About Us

Following the original "Unite With Light" model created by the three Labadini siblings from Concord MA in 2017, Winchester-based siblings Colin & Mairin Norton, with the help of various friends and neighbors, launched "Unite with Light-Winchester" in 2019.  Here is our mission:

Unite with Light is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. Our goal is to organize an annual event that brings the community together and raises money to be donated to a charities for children. On a designated evening in December, those who have purchased the Unite with Light kits will assemble and light their luminaries along their front yards, driveways or walkways, creating a visual and emotional connection between both neighbors and neighborhoods.

Each luminaria kits costs $20 and contains all the necessary supplies and instructions to assemble 10 luminaria lanterns. We are seeking corporate sponsors to defray costs so that all proceeds may be donated to our charity of choice.

"Unite with Light" was started by children and the logistics of the event will be accomplished with youth volunteers. This is an important part of our mission because we feel that the opportunity for children to participate in something fun, beautiful, and philanthropic will not only add to the energy of the event, but be the energy of the event. 

The proceeds of the 2024 event will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of MA & RI, helping to grant wishes to children living with serious, chronic illnesses.
